For more than 70 years, The Dorchester has played host to the noble and noteworthy. When it opened it was said that The Dorchester occupied the most prestigious acre and a half of real estate in the world; in the heart of Mayfair overlooking Hyde Park. Today the hotel has undergone stunning renovations, which add a new vibrancy, and it continues to welcome celebrities, world leaders and society with the same gracious style that it has for the past 75 years.

Following a £10 million restoration programme ending June 2003, the hotel boasts 195 individually designed rooms with king, twin, or queen beds, 50 suites, 4 roof-garden suites and 2 penthouse apartments. Each bedroom and suite contains one of the most advanced business and entertainment systems in Europe. Other amenities include individual climate control and air conditioning, multi-line telephones, private fax lines, dual voltage sockets, and soundproofing of walls, ceilings, and floors. Each bedroom and suite has been considered and treated for its individuality. The finest fabrics and wallpapers, hand-woven carpets, antique and newly crafted furniture is orchestrated into a sumptuous English country house style, while discreetly accommodating the latest entertainment and communications technology. The large bathrooms feature Italian marble, etched glass, and chrome fittings, reflecting the Art Deco style of the building’s Thirties origins. Stylishly lit, most bathrooms also enjoy natural light. The baths are grand in scale: specially imported, they may hold a world record for depth.

The Spa at The Dorchester is an oasis of peace and tranquility providing a range of relaxation facilities including saunas, steam rooms and Jacuzzi baths. The Spa has an extensive treatment menu featuring a choice of eight facials, including the fabulously relaxing and effective Renew Rose Anti-Age Facial. Those suffering from tiredness and stress will benefit from the range of massages on offer including Aromatherapy, Hot Stone, Lymphatic Drainage, Indian Head, Thai and Reflexology. Salon services are also provided including body wraps, manicures, pedicures and St. Tropez safe tanning.
